Genre Grandeur – Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1963).
by Niall McArdle
War Movie Month is coming to a close over at Movie Rob’s site.
I will have my last – and most personal – review of the series there on Sunday. In the meantime, check out my thoughts on Stanley Kubrick’s pitch-black comedy Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, starring Peter Sellers, George C. Scott and Slim Pickens (also, look for a young James Earl Jones)
Head over to MovieRob to see the review and all the other reviews in Genre Grandeur. Rob is always looking for contributors for his great site.
I always found this an uneven film, bordering on farce much of the time. However, the sheer talent involved (and beautiful photography) shines through, and makes it into a real classic. First-rate review as usual Niall,
Best wishes, Pete.
