A while ago I announced the forthcoming publication of a beautiful new edition of James Joyce’s Dubliners, published by de Selby Press in Paris, with illustrations by Stephen Crowe, and a wonderful introduction by Irish author Paul Murray.

As an ex-pat and a Dubliner, I feel a special kinship with Joyce. He is, after all, the Poster Boy for Irish Emigration.

My copy of Dubliners arrived in the post yesterday … just in time for Christmas!

I am now the proud owner of no. 73 of a limited issue of 800 copies of Joyce’s collection of short stories.

If you are still looking for the perfect gift for the book-lover in your life, then this lovely edition of one of the greatest short story collections ever written is the ideal thing.

I did a little fluffcast about the book … be warned, I recite from “The Dead” in this one.

  1. I think that de Selby Press put all the books in the mail in the last couple of weeks. I was an early-bird donor on their crowdfunding campaign, but I don’t know when the books were finally available from the printers.
