Those Who Say "You Only Live Once" Have Never Read a Book. ~John Hughes
Some excellent choices here Niall. Great to see Amy Winehouse, Nina Simone, Peggy Lee, and Piaf. I actually have no complaints! Mind you, I do prefer Carole King singing ‘Natural Woman’, and Patsy Cline’s version of ‘Crazy’. If you’ve never heard it, here’s Julie London singing the definitive version of ‘Cry Me A River’. And a film clip too! From ‘he Girl Can’t Help It’.
Cheers mate. Pete.

Interesting selection, some truly great music from a very wide variety of genre. I will say that I’m not sure that’s the Amy Winehouse song I would have chosen.

Great list but I would have included one of a dozen songs by Joni Mitchell

If you’re talking to Gary I’ll say I like her version of Woodstock. In fact I recently listen to a video with a version that was much, much better than the CSN&Y version. If you’re talking to me, I’m not sure. For me, personally, though Rehab is a good song it feels funny knowing all of her problems with drugs and her early death due at least in part to the drugs.
