Celebrate gay marriage with a pint of I Dough, I Dough from Ben & Jerry’s

Following today’s landmark ruling on gay marriage by the United States Supreme Court, the response has been overwhelming, with almost everybody applauding the decision, including President Obamafictional characters, and Hollywood celebrities (except Adam Baldwin.)
But there’s one marker of the culture that stands out above all others, one iconic signifier of the immense legal and cultural change that has just occurred. It seems that ice cream is no longer just the food of choice for sad single women, but a defiant supporter of equal rights.
“Chocolate-Chip Cookie Dough” is now called “I Dough, I Dough” and will be available all summer. “With this ruling, the SCOTUS recognizes the bond of love and commitment between two people, and protects the fundamental rights and freedoms that come with it,” reads a statement on Ben & Jerry’s website.
The hippie ice cream company is one of many brands that celebrated today’s decision. “J-E-L-L-O is for everyone. So is L-O-V-E” tweeted Jell-O, while the Gap’s response was “Equality is always in style. We’ve been proud supporters since #1969.”
