Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week, in honour of David Bowie, I am going to pick a teaser from one of his Recommended Reads.
On the left embankment they turned around,
But first each of them stuck out his tongue
Between his teeth, towards their chief, as a sign;
And he sounded a trumpet call from his arse-hole.
Dante, Inferno – Canto XXI, lines 136 – 139
My edition is the World’s Classics edition, translated into blank verse by C.H. Sisson
Good to see Dante, and a great quote from Bowie too.
Best wishes, Pete.

“No one taught me,” I said firmly. “I guess I watched when I was young. My father had a room set aside for dissections in our home.”
