Todd Haynes’ “Carol” won five awards on Sunday, including best picture and director, from the Intl. Cinephile Society, an online group consisting of about 100 journalists, film scholars, historians and other industry professionals.

With all those experts voting for ‘Carol’, it seems unlikely to achieve the same success from the ‘political voters’ in the Academy. If I was a gambler, I would still be betting on ‘The Revenant’ for Best Picture.

I think it’s going to go The Big Short but I think Innaritu will win Best Director. Room is the wild card, and The Martian is a crowd-pleaser, so who knows?
