I’ve been eagerly waiting for Tom Hardy‘s new series Taboo for ages.
The mini-series is set in London in 1814 and concerns adventurer James Keziah Delaney*, long thought dead in Africa, who returns to England to claim his father’s legacy, getting caught up in the war between Britain and America, and facing off against business rivals the East India Company.
Taboo was created by Hardy himself, along with his father – the magnificently named Chips Hardy – and Peaky Blinders‘ Steven Knight. Ridley Scott is also on board as producer.
It co-stars a wealth of thespian talent including Oona Chaplin, Jonathan Pryce, Michael Kelly and David Hayman.
It begins on January 7th.
*Whatever happened to gentlemen adventurers? They used to be everywhere.
Looks good, Niall. And it’s on BBC too!
Cheers, Pete.
