RIP The Thin White Duke

What a sad start to the week.

If the measure of an artist is their ability to reinvent themselves and their work, then David Bowie certainly passes the test.

He was a musician, songwriter, actor, fashion icon, and passionate reader.

His latest and last work (released just last week on his 69th birthday) is a fitting testimony to his life – a sad, poignant goodbye to the world.

Throughout his career he pushed musical boundaries, and redefined what a pop icon could be. Long before Prince and others did it, Bowie was adopting different personae, and changing his musical style to stay ahead of the curve.

He also had a rare acting talent.

He will be missed.
