Uma Thurman is back on the market. There’s hope for me yet.
The Hollywood beauty turns 44 next week.
Her mother is model Nena Von Schlebrugge. Her father is Buddhist academic Robert Thurman. She is named after Uma, another name for the Hindu goddess Parvati.
The name Uma means “goddess”.
Thurman is known for roles in Dangerous Liaisons, Pulp Fiction, Henry & June, Kill Bill, and most recently, Nymph()maniac.
Great actress who chooses her roles very wisely! I respect that a great deal. Some actors just churn out 3 or films a year meaning some films they perform in are rubbish!

I quite like her, too, although haven’t seen her in a movie recently but I’ll check out the one you mentioned!

Years ago, David Letterman hosted the Oscars. One of his jokes was, “Oprah, meet Uma. Uma meet Oprah.” A couple times later, he’d just say, “Uma, Oprah. Oprah, Uma.” I don’t know why that cracks me up! I enjoyed her in the movie where she portrayed a superhero who was dumped by her normal boyfriend. She gave him a very bad time to put it mildly. 🙂

the punchline to that uma, oprah, oprah, uma gag was ‘have you kids met Keanu?’ I liked “My Super Ex Girlfriend” too.
